A sort of anti-watch button, to take threads that are riling you up, out of the active convs list when you look at it???

I can parp myself all I like, but I still don't have the willpower to not click and get worked up again

sounds like a good one flamebat.... maybe certain people could then refrain from posting hurtful comments on certain threads.

codface · 19/10/2005 14:01

oh fgs jbam
have a lol at yourself.

QueenVictoria · 19/10/2005 14:01

What - with a voice added to it saying

"PLEASE step away from the thread Flamebat"

"This is your FINAL warning, step AWAY from the thread"

Nah, i like parp hooting!

SoupDragon · 19/10/2005 14:02

Can't anyone on MN take gentle teasing any more??

Sheesh!

expatinscotland · 19/10/2005 14:02

Johnson's Holiday Face Lotion for EVERYONE! With some face illuminator to mix it with! Rub into face and shoulders for some holiday glow.

SoupDragon · 19/10/2005 14:03

Am thinking of instigating a comment here nettiquette.

munz · 19/10/2005 14:05

cod some of ur commnets have been rather hurtful I thought (infact not just u but some posters on JM's thread have been hurtful - and it's not even me who's having the baby!)

fab idea FB.

sd - nothing wrong with gentle teasing but plain rude comments are just uncalled for I think - althou this is the internet where things can be percieved as nasty when they're not iycwim.

SoupDragon · 19/10/2005 14:09

Nope. Can only see teasing I'm afraid (although as with everything here it depends how you read it as no "tone" comes through). Coddy even put a smiley in which is extremely rare for her!!

SoupDragon · 19/10/2005 14:12

I'm going to PARP myself now

SoupDragon · 19/10/2005 14:12

at myself.

northerner · 19/10/2005 14:13

PMSL at Soupy parping herself
really am wetting myself at thay typo.

munz · 19/10/2005 14:13

that's what i'm saying soupy - all for gentle teasing nothing wrong with that - but if there's a view that it could be misinterpreted then perhaps a smiley/cheeky grin would help make light of it all? - i'm not refering to cod's comments here on this thread.

munz · 19/10/2005 14:14

lol - parp urself!

flamebat · 19/10/2005 14:14

Ok, the Cod/J&BM thread I think really depends on the view you're looking from... I vividly remember being a month overdue with DD (by my dates, still in scan dates), and I would have been hysterical and irate with the comments, but today, not being overdue, they don't bother me and I just see it as being Cod iyswim???

But the big booming voice as I clicked the anti watch button would be good

There's nowt more sensitive than mums and mums-to-be, especially in the wake of a harvest moon!

How about just using the preview button a bit more often?

Gobbledispook · 19/10/2005 14:17

I never preview! what's the point - might as well say waht you really think!

elitemeetupCOD · 19/10/2005 14:18

funnily enough me neither

OrribleOliveoil · 19/10/2005 14:19

me neither, and I hardly ever use smileys.

I hand out little kisses all the time

xxxxxxxxx

like that.

x

flamebat · 19/10/2005 14:20

I've only previewed when I've hit the wrong button

OP posts:
RottenRhubarbWitch · 19/10/2005 14:25

Cause sometimes you post and then realise you've made loads of typos for instance!
Or you think "shit! why did I say that!" and you realise upon re-reading that rather than make a useful and intelligent point, you've just gone and dug yourself in a big deep hole.

hunkerpumpkin · 19/10/2005 14:32

I hardly ever preview - only a post with a lot of links in.

I just read back what I've written in the post.

And then press post. If I previewed everything...I'd halve my post total though

elitemeetupCOD · 19/10/2005 14:32

i like to hug

QueenVictoria · 19/10/2005 14:36

"hug" my *ss

Who'd want hugs from someone looking like this ?

flamebat · 19/10/2005 14:45

I love the hair!

Even if I re-read mine, I still end up digging HUGE holes for myself

Its a gift really....
