I have just been reading another thread and it got me wondering how people have come up with their nicknames. Mine is a mixture of two reasons. I have had my hair every colour of the rainbow according to my Dad (at the minute it is shocking pink, it was suppoese to be purple but it went wrong!).
When the girl next door was young she couldn't pronounce my name properly and she called me Boman. Boman got shortened to Bo.

Wasnt janh previously mocha???

janh · 05/10/2003 20:38

No, I wasn't mocha, doormat - must be somebody else! (One of the other Jans maybe.)

jodee, thanks for your message, that was so sweet - I wasn't really planning to change, too late now.

sugarplumfairy · 05/10/2003 20:40

I'm more like a baby elephant but I can dream.

doormat · 05/10/2003 20:43

Sorry Janh, I remember mocha turning into jan???

myersthecat · 05/10/2003 20:58

Mine is after my cat .... we were trying to work out what to call him and he wouldn't respond to anything. We worked our way through the video collection and came to Mike Myers. Hey presto response!

As for purple...it is my fav colour but for a minge.....might clash with my underwear!

Posey · 05/10/2003 21:15

Found it hard to come up with one. Did try Jodee, but it had gone (same reason as you chose it Jo D!) Anyway my nickname when I was a student was Posey, apparently I reminded a friend of a posey of flowers (don't quite know what that said about my dress sense). I am definitely not a poseur, more a wallflower!

polly28 · 05/10/2003 21:33

Mine is /was my nickname as a child and my house number ..boring!.I live quite near the infamous sandy balls too!

jodee · 06/10/2003 07:34

Janh, phew!!!
Posey, like that name! Much more original than You Know What ...

jammamia · 06/10/2003 21:42

As one of the new girls round here, I tried to register as mammamia (just liked the sound of it!!), but for some reason it wasn't accepted - (is there one here already??), so just used my sons initial - hence jammamia - thought it sounded quite exotic!!

CONNEELY · 08/10/2003 18:02

lou33 · 08/10/2003 19:01

I used to live in Luton Conneely.

sunchowder · 08/10/2003 20:32

My husband is originally from Great Missendon (sp) and later moved to Princes Risborough I know that Luton is fairly close to thereI seem to remember a cute little village called Dunstable--am I right? Don't think I've been to Watford or St Albans Janstar.

CONNEELY · 08/10/2003 21:17

i used to live near hatfield, but i live in houghton regis, near luton and dunstable, hardly ne 1 knows where it is.
i work in chesham on sat.dont suppose you know any decent driving instructers?Either in aylesbury or around houghton regis way..

sunchowder · 08/10/2003 21:23

I have a SIL once-removed that lives in Aylesbury (my DH's x-wife's sister), she is much nicer than my DH's x wife. She has one boy and then a set of twins one girl and one boy--they are quite delicious. Do you want me to ask her about driving instructors? In fact, I believe my DH's great, great grandfather was responsible for breeding the aylesbury duck - they had a wonderful write up of it and my FILs house when I was there. What about Wickcomb (sp?) or High Wickcomb is i? That's where I went to Woolworths at Easter Time and thought I died and went to heaven in the egg section. Anyway, that seems to be a large enough town to have a driving school, yes?

CONNEELY · 08/10/2003 21:31

i have family in aylesbury that could have abi,my partner works in high wycombe but i wouldnt beable to stay there all day,any advice would be great on driving instructers...

sunchowder · 08/10/2003 21:50

Sorry Conneely, what is abi?

lou33 · 08/10/2003 21:52

Ooh I might be able to help you there Conneely. Dh passed his test in Luton, had a great instructor called Marston, his company was called Easidrive. Great bloke, great instructor. I don't have his number anymore but we got him from the Thomsons directory I think. Good luck.
