How did you get yours?

I have just been reading another thread and it got me wondering how people have come up with their nicknames. Mine is a mixture of two reasons. I have had my hair every colour of the rainbow according to my Dad (at the minute it is shocking pink, it was suppoese to be purple but it went wrong!).
When the girl next door was young she couldn't pronounce my name properly and she called me Boman. Boman got shortened to Bo.

When DD was little I dressed her in a lot of pink. Her nickname is now Lily. She was sat on my lap a couple of months ago and BIL shouts out "Oh look it's a Lilypad!"

Doormat is coz I feel like a doormat

Rainbow I used to dye my hair purple (you know that strong paste stuff you get in small indie shops) anyway me being a smarta** thought it would rinse off quicker in the shower. I looked like a bleedin aubergine when I got out of the shower.I had to get a brillo pad to all my bod to get rid of the purple.

It is now twiglett but at the time I had to scour myself for around 4 hours. I even had a purple minge

title of a childrens book by Ursula Moray williams. Just thought it sounded different & I always wanted to have a bogwoppit.

I changed mine from boring boring SamboM this very week.

I got it because Thomcat had looked at a picture of me taken 5 days after dd was born and I told her that I looked like Countess Dracula as I had just had a 10 litre blood transfusion. She then said that she would now alway think of me as Dracula and it went from there.

Must say I rather like it, had been wanting to change my name for ages.

Cos I've got not one but 2 lazyeyes - rolling all round the joint like some cartoon character.

Its very confusing for people - they don't know where to look or who I'm looking at.....Luckily my kids don't seem to have it..I'm a bit paranoid checking them all the time. I could never work in a bar...they wouldn't know who I was serving.

I was one of those kids with the NHS specs and the patches...didn't work though....

that's very interesting. mine is the name of my first fish with the wrong spelling coz i didn't know the right one when i was naming the fish. strange, i know
