There's no comparison between Max & Ruby and Barney! Barney is a form of torture second to none. I'd rather go through DS1s labour all over again with no pain relief whatsoever (incl the repair work) than watch that.

I'm with Soupy - I'd rather have my fingernails pulled out and be dragged by my hair over hot coals than watch Bbbbbb.....sorry can't say the word, it's just too horrible ...

I LOVE max and you will notice if you CONCENTRATE that he is always right in the end.

Braney is like an operation on Tv you know its awful but you cant help watching those horrendous kids over act

I love Ruby and Max and force my kids to watch it (as a child I was Ruby, and my little brother was Max!)

But Barney...sorry, not fit to be mentioned in the same breath. My hairdresser told me there was a live theatre tour of Barney (in the States I think) and Barney's head caught fire/exploded. Loads of parents sueing for trauma caused to their kids. Now that would be a video of Barney worth watching.

I love max and ruby, i think they are great, and i can't believe it was compared to barney.

i love BOO tho. the theme tune gets stuck in my head for days. my dd2 loves it too, it reminds me of humpty from playschool (when i was young). anyone know where i might be able to get a BOO toy??

i don't know, but i am sure they will bring them out soon enough, i remember humpty dumpty now, lol

My dd loves Ruby and Max and I hate it as does dh. Ruby is just so bossy and so patronising (sp?) but Max is always right in the end Hah! Just wish she'd let him get on with it the first time so we don't have to sit through 30 mintues of torture.

and Barney, i don't like him either although dd seems to pick up some moral messages, she sometimes says but Barney says that...and I suppose that's good but it still irritates me, especially the children.

Aaargh, there are characters even worse than Barney? thanks for warning me. DS loves Barney, but he makes me feel sick. REALLY, sick! - it's his nasal voice and that cheesy-old-uncle delivery, and I go all peculiar when the poor stage school kids are directed to cuddle up to him.....And can anyone explain why the producers thought that a good name for the baby dinosaur was BJ?????

My DD loves Nick Jr - especially Max and Ruby, Little Bill, Little Bear, Maggie and the Ferocious Beast and Dora the Explorer. In fact it is hard to get to see any adult type programmes these days and I am grateful for Nursery 4 times a week!!

Barney is the worst kids programme ever.
