What colour worktop would you have with this kitchen?

this

The one in the picture is real wood, which we don't want and can't find a laminate wood in a similar that we like. I wondered about something quite dark as we will be having a cooker with a ceramic black hob, but thought it may be too much of a contrast.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

I have to say that I am not a fan of black granite [sorry] so I would suggest Karin Grey granite - its a nice mottled mid grey colour that goes very well with paler woods.

Black can be a bit too stark IME and lots of people have it!

Bum. Link doesn't seem to work. Try again.

The granite looks good with ours, but it's a darker wood than lilibet's link. Ours isn't completely black. We have emerald black : click products, then granite. The flecks glitter beautifully, though I'm always brushing them in case it's spilt cornflakes!

What colour is your floor? If the floor is pale then I wouldn't go for black granite as it will look a bit unbalanced.

We haven't decided on a floor yet - I'll probably post for advice later on that one!
