Help save Bishops Park in Fulham!!

Hi,

I wondered if all you guys out there could help me out.

Fulham FC Community Sports Trust have applied to Hammersmith and Fulham Council for planning permission to install a full size floodlit Astroturf football pitch, complete with 2m+ high fencing and floodlighting to cover the majority of the open space in Bishops Park. There are also plans to erect gates blocking the riverside walk as well.

I used to play there as a child and would hate to see this happen to it, so its quite close to my heart.
It would be such a shame if this happened as there are not too many parks in Fulham, so children need large ones like Bishops Park to be kept as they are.

someone say they'll sign. I know most of you might not have anything to do with this area, but if I thought a children's park was going to be affected anywhere in the country I would sign an online petition if I thought it might help.

I will sign, I dont live near there any more, but it is a lovely park. Why do they need another football pitch in Fulham any way.

charliebat · 13/10/2005 10:21

Where are we signing?

tell me where the online petition is and I'll sign. The same sort of thing is threatened with my local park in Whitton/Twickenham, except by a rugby club. It makes me furious! I use dto go and play tennis in Bishop's Park I think , when I was young and sporty

Carameli · 13/10/2005 10:40

have signed - When I was at Uni, I could look out of my bedroom window and see Bishops Park. I had many a fun afternoon there with friends and their kids. It will be a crying shame if that bulldoze it for this.

Carameli · 13/10/2005 14:50
