Did you marry without any guests?

DP and I getting married in Registry office soon. 2nd time for us both. We are also having a biggish blessing a few months after registry event for family friends and most importantly for our children.

At the registry wedding we want just the 2 of us and witnesses 'off the street'. Hoping it will be more romantic that way. Did anyone else do this?

got married in las vegas without any guests. The woman who ran the wedding chapel was our witness (didn't actually have to do anything in the ceremony other than pay her something). It was lovely, we got to concentrate on the meaning of what we were saying.

yes, it was lovely - felt very private and special

in laws weren't overwhelmingly happy, mind

yep....just me and DH and 2 best friends as witnesses.

Though I don't regret having a wedding I do regret having a get together of close friends and relatives...and I do get a yearning every time I see a beautiful dress in a bridal shop....even though I think its a waste of money.

I wasn't going to get photos of the event, but my mum pursuaded me to, and she was right it is nice to have some nice photographs of the 4 of us in an album.

We also got married in Las Vegas without any guests - really nice.

Ok so here's next question. Would you wear same dress to reg office wedding then again to the blessing? It is relatively low key dress from Monsoon so works well for both the small and big ceremonies. I want my money's worth! But I still want DP to have wow factor the 2nd time he see's me in it - 3.5 months later. The 2nd time I will have my hair and make-up done professionally, bouquet, bridemaid/DD etc. So will look 'better'.

Sounds great to me. We got married in a registry office with only 2 friends as witnesses. We said at the time we would have a huge party later to celebrate - but 3 years later still haven't done it! I think what you are doing sounds fantastic. Have fun!
