What's for tea tonight? NO PARPING!

I need inspiration - what shall I make for tea? Don't want anything with chicken or red meat because I've no time to go to the butchers and I'm not buying it in Tesco. What can I buy in Tesco for tea?

no idea - whatever DH cooks when he gets in. Quite fancy macaroni cheese after reading through this thread though!

I'm having spinach and bacon frittata with frisee,walnuts and Roquefort.
Bacon is for my mother who is returning to Saudi tomorrow!
Actually,I had to go out and buy more,because with the first lot,the butcher coughed phlegmily into his hand before he picked it up.

Couldn't get the vile image out of my head,so went and bought more. I should have told him but he is so nice and kind I couldn't.....

Gdg,if your dh wants meat,you can always beef up a basic tomato pasta sauce with black olives and slices of a good quelity sausage/salami type thing and/or serve a salad with bacon bits and croutons.

Lamb, with dauphoise (sp) potatoes, spinach, peas and carrots.

I have decided to do grilled tomatoes as well with my lamb chops, cover top in breadcrumbs, garlic and cheese and grill

yummy and then I can eath those witht he potatoes and green beans and leave the lamb

I'm having fishfinger butties

So in the end I've done brocolli, ham and penne pasta in a cheese sauce (made from scratch by my own fair hand as well!) with some passatta added in to make it 'tomatoey', seasoned with black pepper, garlic and italian herbs and now in the oven baking with parmesan on top. Yumtastic!

Ha ha! Poor jools! Actually, I bet fish finger butties are lovely. Think I'll run it by dh for tomorrow night and see what he says
