Yes, that's my exciting day out planned for this weekend. My 17mo DD loves tractors of all kinds. My dad works in the ICT department of a tractor manufacturers and this Sunday they are having a family open day. So, that's where we are all off. For tractor rides...

Might just go and read the What do you miss if you have a Boy/Girl threads to see if anyone's elses little girls look forward to seeing tractors all day. Mind you to balance it out, no doubt she will be taking her baby dolly with her too - she loves 'babies' as much too.

Where is it, C&R: my DD & DS would like it, too.

It's in Doncaster.

Unfortunately this particular open day is only for family of workers at the factory though, sorry . They do do other open days for the public at other times.

DS would love that. Where is it? Can we come too?

Gem13 · 05/09/2003 21:10

Oh

Doncaster's miles away. Will have to look out for one down south.

For anyone who's kiddies are into things like tractors - near Newcastle there is a place called Diggerland, full of JCBs etc. and the chance for rides. Not been but seen it advertised when visiting my sister at uni there.

that would be my ds1's idea of heaven (he is 25 months). He spends most of his days pointing out bummels (his name of tractors), telling us how the wheels go round, and how the MAN (always said with great emphasis) sits on the seat, and there should be a plough on the back.

He'd love it at my new apartment too then! DD does as we have a selection of tractors and that type of thing in the basement carpark - from where they are still building the next phase of the building. We also used to have a big yellow tractor in next door's garden in our last house (moved last month) as they were building there too. I think that's why DD is so obsessed by them; tractor was one of her very first words !!!

There's a Diggerland down south too - maybe Maidstone or Ashford way. Is that anywhere near you Gem?

Oakmaiden · 06/09/2003 13:15

There are 3 Diggerlands - one in Strood, Kent, one at Langley Park, Co. Durham, and one at Verbeer Manor, Cullompton, Devon. I thought there was something similar in Somerset too, but can't remember what it was called.

Well, it was fab! DD, and DH loved it. DD had a pony ride and her grandad took her for a ride on a tractor. She was so excited at that point she was physically shaking Dh even got to have a go at driving a tractor too.

There was lots to do and the weather was great. So, actually it was quite an exciting day out after all. DD is now fast asleep in her cot after a busy biusy day.
