Water Parks in Kent or nearby

My kids have just finished their latest house point chart. The reward for "winning" is to choose a day out for us all. Ds1 has chosen to go to a water park but we don't know any good ones near us. We like Centerparcs ones but our nearest (Bromley) is not a patch on them. So - is there a good waterpark in Kent, South-East London, East Surrey, East Sussex etc?

Not that I can think of since they shut the Water Palace in Croydon quite a few years ago!!

Yes - we liked that one but unfortunately BC (before children).

On the news I saw something in Ramsgate.... did you search on the internet ?
Have you looked here ?

I did google but there's no info on what the pools have got - ie could be no better than the Bromley one so not worth travelling an hour for. I've googled again and got these: Does anyone know if they're any good:

Tides Leisure Pool, Deal
Splashes Leisure Pool, Rainham
Bexhill Leisure Pool, Bexhill

I wouldn't bother with Splashes at Rainham. From what I remember it is very small and not worth a long car journey.

This site is quite helpful, it doesn't give links to the leisure centres but most of them can be found on google. The one at Swanley sounds pretty good.

Swanley's not far from me but it only mentions 3 flumes - we were hoping for a bit more. eg. Bromley has 2 flumes, a waterfall, wave machine and very small toddler pool.

Coral Reef in Bracknell is fab (I know it's miles away from you, but worth the trip). Or I've heard Maidstone Leisure Centre isn't too bad.

judetheobscure · 05/09/2003 23:26

How do you get to Bracknell - is that M3 way - how far from M25? Will google Maidstone. Thanks.

Yep, it's about 4 miles from jct 3 of the M3 (being about 8 miles from the M25 turn-off). There's more info here .

Bexhill has only one flume. It's a pretty small pool from what I remember.

Spectrum at Guildford looks nice but is nothing like the Water Palace was. Oxted is nice enough but only 1 flume, a small slide for littlies and a wave machine.

Bexhill - do not bother - I drive past it every day and wouldn't go there.
