aluminium ore is bauxite which is smelted in molten cryolite - why this has stuck I have no idea, but it impressed DS1 when passing the Alcan factory in the holidays!!

i remember that our physics teacher had one ear bigger than the other.

i remember the aparatus the biology teacher used to show us what cigarettes do to your lungs (i also remember him smoking half of the cigarette cos he said it was a shame to waste it)

i remember our chemistry teachers hair cut (pudding bowl job)

i hated science at school. am currently doing a biology degree tho, taught by people who actually like their subject! makes such a difference

i rememeber that DCPIP stands for dichlorophenolindolphenol (or something like that) and it is used to test for something or other
