Having spent a bit of time in other people houses i've come up with a hit list of things that others do that drive me mad!

  1. Making you take your shoes off. OK a new white carpet I understand. But honestly - who buys such a thing unless the live in a Manhattan loft! I visited friends and we all had to huddle in their tiny porch struggling with boots and coats which is this weather is mad. If any tiny crumbs get dropped out comes the dust buster - in front of us. They have kids aged 5 & 9!
  1. People just immediately turning way from you cos thier little darling wants a drink. you are in conversation and they just cut yuou off. i make a point of telling my children they must wait if someone else is talking but rarely get the same courtesy shown to me.
  1. The little darlings being allowed to run and screech and holler around the place - my house. they climb on furniture and the only thing said is - Greatwhale will be cross if you do that! ie making me responsible for controlling their childrens behaviour.

Lots more - come on what gets on your goat???

Re No 1, are you friends with my ex-SIL?

And No 2 and No 3 apply come to mention it.

2 more!

  • Publicising their little darlings latest "achievement" on Facebook and just how "advanced" they are.

  • My 5 year old got a Christmas card from a class member. It had the classmate picture on it and the poor little sod had been made to sign one for all his 29 fellow class mates. I guess we are all supposed to be so smitten with him that we want a piture( I took great pleasure in putting it out with the recycling!) and be so impressed with his writting and care for others. Yeuch!

You sound just a little bit horrid

southeastastra · 06/01/2011 20:22
  1. people who keep their shoes on my lovely white carpet
  2. people who find it rude when i deal with my thirsty child
  3. people expecting my child to be seen and not heard

I probably am a bit horrid - but need to let off steam about it somewhere! but you know I doubt if my kids will think in years to come - god - I wish my parents had kept the carpet cleaner.

I generlly find they're not thirsty - just attention seeking little sods whose parents jump every time!!!!
