OMG - "Farmyard Fun Day" dressing up ideas please......

just got a letter home from DS1's informing us about what's happening for harvest/autumn celebrations at the school.

On the 14th (so a week on Friday) as part of this day they're having a dressing up compeition with "The Farm" as the theme. Ideas for costumes could be a scarecrow, farmer, farmyard animal, vegetable, fruit etc etc - but has to be suitable for waering in the races and competitions.

PLEASE help me - I need to do this on a budget of, hmmm lets see, £0 (if possible) - ie something VERY cheap.

scarecrow would be fun - cut the sleeves out of an old jacket and put an old jumper on underneath, make a belt from string and a wig from wool, a battered old hat and odd shoes with odd socks?

Jeans, check shirt, Dad's hat with straw or grass sticking out of it, bucket as a prop, wellies
