Mould - how do you get it off clothes and bedding?

It sounds like im a dirty monkey I know but we're not I promise ! I put some of dd's damp clothes in the washing basket and when I went to get them out to wash a few days later they had some small patches of mildew / mould (black spot on them). The same applies for one of her bed sheets. I washed them on a hot wash and have washed them several times but no joy in getting it out. I have also tried scrubbing with fairy liquid. Any ideas ?

I need help too - the washing machine leaked and I'd left a pile of washing on the floor whilst we were on holiday

Getting mildewy black spots out is fairly impossible although I think there is a Stain Devil which is supposed to do it. Also you can try household bleach/oxyclean but mildew does get right into things...

However if they smell mildewy too I can recommend leaving them on the line (rain/wind/sun etc) for as long as poss - DS2 left his school swimming stuff from lifesaving (ie towel and pyjamas) in a carrier bag for weeks and they came out absolutely disgusting - left them on the line for ages and although the black spots were still there they smelt fine. (No good for nice clothes but OK for sheets etc.)
