ok - I've been on holiday (a week in the Cotswolds if you're interested - bloody marvellous week)

so - where is she then? I've looked and looked and it appears a couple of threads have been deleted - or am I looking in the wrong place?

If you mean the newbie with the 1000 post introduction, then she seems to have been scared off by threats of being eaten if she kept posting on those threads.

I know of two which seem to have vanished.

One was fiercly debating culture on both sides of the Atlantic.
The other involved a nervous mum who asked for advice then got very upset after feeling patronised.

Any good? Too blatant?

oh come on - you must know who I mean? but the threads were inocuous, if irritating so why deleted?

one was an introductory thread the other was started in 'her' honour
