Hi. I have been reading threads about bed wetting, this isn't urine, it is only water from a hot water bottle that leaked. However, it was over 24 hours before I discovered it. DH had put a towel over the wet patch at the foot of the bed. I discovered the soaking wet towel, wet sheet and wet undersheet and wet mattress tonight, and DH said it happened last night.

I used a hair dryer on the surface, so it is dry to touch now, but how to dry it through? It is almost new, bought it 3 months ago. Should we get it professionally dried somehow? It is winter so no chance of putting in the sun.

I am worried because a few weeks ago I discovered a hot water bottle leaked under the bed, and the carpet had the most awful smell (btw this was a NEW hot water bottle today, we threw the one under the bed out). The carpet stink took ages to get rid of. And the mattress is much deeper than a carpet.

Any advice appreciated... and yes I have now banned all hot water bottles from the flat.
