***URGENT HELP NEDED*** Paint on new sofa bed...

Hulababy · 28/09/2005 18:11

....please help me.

I had been painting a desk of DD's earlier before she got in. I really laid it to her how she must keep away and I really thought she had. But sadly not

She has somehow got a bit of paint on her T shirt, and then sat on our brand new sofa bed. It has a futon type mattress seat in natural colour. The paint is light pink.

I have just seen it

DH is out until 7ish.

But how on earth am I going to be able to get it off? Is there any way at all?

I am really upset about it and more cross with myself than DD, but want to try and put it right somehow.

Help!

Hulababy · 28/09/2005 18:22

Normal matt paint

Soapy water should get it off.

charliecat · 28/09/2005 18:26

Well im not recommending this but i have a very expensive sofa and dp sat on the sofa with a pen in his pocket and left a great big ink mark on it, a baby wipe got rid of it much to my surprise.
Hope you get it sorted.

I have sprayed the paint bits with Vanish spray and then used wipes and a biit of water and given it a dab/gentle rub. I am now waiting for it to dry.

Just want it to dry before Dh gets home!

Hairdryer and kitchen towel

Hulababy · 28/09/2005 18:31

My kitchen roll is packed somewhere and I can't find it

Tried hairdryer but it started to small a bit

Currently trying will power.

Put a towel on it, and sit on it, bodyheat will dry it in no time

Hulababy · 28/09/2005 18:34

I have a bit of extra time. DH just phoned to say that he has only just finished his round of golf (apparantly that is work!) and is wet through, so he is having a shower and then his dinner (provided by work!) before he'll be home. So have a good hour if not more.

I really hate having new things in the house. And why did we choose natural coloured material???

Actually really glad it was that she sat on and not DH's brand new Conran chair - then I'd have been in huge trouble!

put the sofa near the fire/central heating or quickly go buy a throw

Hulababy · 28/09/2005 18:37

LOL! At least I am now laughing with you ideas, rather than sat her nearly crying like before.

One patch (the smallest) has almost dried and as yet I can't see any paint. Fingers crossed.

Got my legs crossed for you, if its stained get amourous on the sofa and blame it on him

Hulababy · 28/09/2005 18:49

LOL! Going to have dinner whilst it tries.

Fingers crossed.

Yes, 'fraid so.

Looks better on the wall and desk than my sofa though.

It's drying and I can't see paint. Hope I don't get water stains now!

Hulababy · 28/09/2005 19:40

One bit looks completely dry and no paint

Other two spots are still drying. Still looking good at moment though.

Yes - i owned up. But he couldn't argue or saying anything as there was no evidence. Knew I had to or DD would have told him!
