Council Tax benefit question.....?

Hi all, I dont claim council tax benefit,(mainly because they want to know ins and outs of ducks a$se before they even consider the application).
Was wondering if anyone knew what the cut off point is for earnings to be entitled to it?

I suppose it depends how much c/tax is?
ours is £100 a month.
DH works full time, I work 16 hrs a week.
Only benefit we get is child tax and child benefit.

Any ideas anyone?

ALL your benefit is taken into consideration when you apply for Council tax benefit. In our council, in fact, Housing and Council Tax Benefit is all on one form.

It's extremely hard to get council tax benefit. My ILs live on the basic state pension and don't qualify for it, so council tax accounts for about 20% of their entire income.

My SIL gets it, but she's on income support.

On the other hand, housing benefit isn't as hard to qualify for, but only applies to renters.

Oh, all your assets are included, too. Including ISAs, savings and equity in a house - at least, it is in our council. It may vary by council.

check out www.entitledto.com - it might give you an idea if it's worth applying for it.

Hmm tbh i don't think you'd get it.

Our C/tax is £115 a month and only dp works and we get CTC and WTC but we don't get any C/tax benefit or housing benefit.

Have looked at website (link) it was a good guide. I dont think I would get it, so not going to waste my time. I just wish these things were clearer. The system is too complicated, wish the Government would scrap benefits and just tax us all a lot less!!
