I there I am moving to Hampton on Monday. Panic has set in - will I like it? Are there any parent/toodler groups I could take ds to? or gym classes?

there are a few hamptons - there's hampton wick, hampton hill (normally what people call hampton) and hampton court.

If you're moving to the hampton hill bit then you will be overwhelmed with stuff to do because twickenham/teddington/the hamptons are absolutely chocca full of young families!

oh good news then. it is near to Hampton high street I htink or is it Hampton Hill High St?? Is it the same thing? it is fairly near to hampton station so think it might be hampton?

yes I know where you mean. There's a fantastic open air pool there which has loads of activities. You've got a great pottery cafe that does toddler sessions. Also, Bushy Park is right there and there are some lovely walks from the Hampton side (as well as the walks down to the river).

A new Little Gym has just opened in Hampton Hill high street but I have heard it's quite expensive.

Honestly, that whole area is heaving with things for young families to do! In terms of toddler groups, most of the churches run big ones and there are some good ones around there.

in terms of the difference, I suppose the bit closer to the river is Hampton (where the station is) and the bit north of that is Hampton Hill (towards Fulwell). It's much of a muchness.

this is quite handy childcarelink info for richmond upon thames . It's got loads of activities in - anything that says Hampton Hill or Hampton is where you are.

This is supposed to be a good playgroup - hampton hill playcentre and although this is a church link, if you look down towards playgroups, it has the numbers of the ones near you - teddington online .

Hope that helps - I have recently had a friend who moved to Hampton which is partly why I had looked up all this stuff!!

sounds like I am in the middle of the two!

we are moving into rented house for 6 months so didn't look too much into the area before we signed on the dotted line! Just liked the look of the area - seemed nice and leafy and quiet. House was the only unfurnished one that was big enough and in our price bracket! Even though it is a way ffor me to drive dd to school in the morning.
