40th birthday ideas

Me and dh are 40 soon along with most of my friends. There are lots of parties going on and we haven't sorted out what we're doing yet. Any ideas for something a bit different?

I have just been invited to a 40th where a group of 6 couples and children are going to rent a big house in the country - swimming pool etc take loads of wine and food and generally pig out for 4 days!!
