Was thinking about you both this morning, is there any news on your houses?

The survey on this house is being done tomorrow and the one on our new house is being done on wednesday.

finger crossed it will all go OK.

Dh got his transfer date for work too, it will be either 10th November or 2nd January.

I just want to get there now.....

Still no more bloody viewings, have sent a growly email to the estate agent so hopefully he'll get of his arse and start living up to his promises. I'm not holding my breath though.

It sounds like things are moving along pretty quick for you, LTH. Fanstatic !

NomDePlume · 26/09/2005 10:48

off his arse

Gobbledigook · 26/09/2005 10:50

Sounds great LTH!

Nope, nothing else here either. Think we'll change agents though I'm not convinced it will make any difference. It will be our 4th agent!!

So depressing. I thought our house would have been sold by March!

NomDePlume · 26/09/2005 10:51

what is the market like where you are GDG ? It's slow but relatively steady here, so we will get viewings but it will take time. Grrrrrrrrrrr

Gobbledigook · 26/09/2005 11:03

Same here really NDP - houses are selling but it is definitely slow. The houses on the market either side of us have been on just as long as ours and have only just sold. We'll be next!

NomDePlume · 26/09/2005 11:05

xx I have everything crossed.....

LadyTophamHatt · 26/09/2005 11:15

Oh, bummer!

I think changing EA is aggod idea Gdk, 4th one or 54th they'll have a diiferent way of doing thing. Is putting it on with more than one agent an option? pushes the fees up load though.

Ndp, I really think they just say we've got loads of potential viewers to get your cash. Our EA siad we've got 4-5 people waiting for these houses to come up. It was about 5-6 days beofre any appeared. Ok it's not along time(deffo not, is it Gdk!!) but if people are waiting then they'd want to see it ASAP.
Bastards!

I have no idea how fast thing will go after the surveys. It was 5 months from start to finish when we bought this place and probably about the same when we bought our first place. Really want to be in before Xmas because I want Ds1+2 to have afew weeks in school down there befoer the holdays start.

Fingers crossed and all that.

NomDePlume · 26/09/2005 11:24

I WANT VIEWERS !!!!!

Have been on over a week and only had one. The agent said he could get around 10 through the door if we chose to go on with them.... Grrrrrrrrrrr

Gobbledigook · 26/09/2005 11:25

Oh they are cheap lying bar stewards NDP - they raise your hopes so much.

NomDePlume · 26/09/2005 11:26

I know. They are a hateful bunch.

NomDePlume · 26/09/2005 11:28

But I am managing to stay calm, there's no point in getting stressed about it at the mo. We knew putting it on the market in the current climate was a risk and that we'd potentially be in it for the long haul. I just have to remind myself of that when things get fraught and DH is constantly asking me have I harrassed the agents today ? It's a soul destroying task, I can feel him (estate a) flicking the v's at me on the other end of the 'phone.

LadyTophamHatt · 26/09/2005 11:39

They are vague bugger too.
we've given them and the solicitors all the info they need straight away ie, recieve the letter at 8-9am in the post asking for X,y or z and have hand delivered x,y or z befoer mid-day that day.

We've asked several times how quick can it go, and with all the stuff we've bent over backward to get to them they still only give us a "ohhh, it sould all go quite quickly because it such a short chain".

Yes I friggin know that......

But how quicky is "quite quicky"

Really really want to be in by Xmas.

xmas sounds realistic to me.

LadyTophamHatt · 26/09/2005 12:54

Oh, me too NdP but trying to get them to say that is like eating pizza through a straw!

The surveyor has just been to do our buyers survey.....he was here for less than 10 minutes!

These people are spending £214,000 and they chose the lowest level of survey. Which according to the blokey basically tells the lender that the house is standing and worth the money.

Blimey, not sure wheter I should be pleased or nervous!

OP posts:
Gobbledigook · 27/09/2005 12:38

Pleased! It's not going to show up anything too dodgy is it?!

It's not like he's looked closely at your wiring or anything! That's what you want - someone having a really basic survey!

We have got another agent coming round on Friday to give us her view.

NomDePlume · 27/09/2005 12:41

Lol. TBH, we bought this house for £200k and only paid for the basic survey (homebuyers??), but then this is a modern house, only been up 7 years. I would/will spend more on a more detailed survey for a period house, like yours. IMO, you should be pleased !

LadyTophamHatt · 27/09/2005 12:58

He said the wall below the bay window is just about showing a damp reading on the meter but it could be the meter it's self going wrong.
Either way, he said in a house this old it's nothing and they all have various level of damp.

He said "I doubt I'll even mention it"

WTF!!??

OP posts:
NomDePlume · 27/09/2005 12:58

scary !

LadyTophamHatt · 28/09/2005 20:18

survey done on our new house today.

Tiny bit of wood worm in loft, air bricks missing at front and drain pipes need up dating.

wood worm and pipes will be replaced when we extend it so shouldn't be a problem. not sure how/what we'd do about ait bricks missing. I assume it's always been just 2 and recent laws says no it has to be 4 so not alot we could do about it.

Keeping fingers tightly crossed for a pre xmas move.

OP posts:
LadyTophamHatt · 04/10/2005 18:43

How's it all going for you two?

Any more viewing NdP?
How was the new agent Gdk?

It's all gone quiet here, solicitors doing their stuff I suppose.

BaronessJewelsofToochester · 04/10/2005 18:52

LadyTophamHatt · 04/10/2005 18:52
