Anyone know any good ways to fix a coffee stain on my highly impractical cream carpet. I'll be honest it was spilt about a week ago and I still haven't done anything other than mop it up with water...wonder remedies welcome!!

We had our carpets cleaned by a man with a fancy cleaner the other month. He told me things like Vanish and the like where not really all they were cracked upto be and advised me to buy a plastic squirter put some Dreft in with some water and spray any mark with it, rub it in with your finger and vaccum it up when dry. I friend of mine moved house and spilt a cup of coffee down her stairs all over her BRAND NEW cream carpet, I advised her with my new tip (It too had been there a few weeks) and apparently it came up spotless. Give it a go.

PS - Your story does sound familiar, you're not her are you?

I find that oxiclean is amazing. there are loads of diff versions but I use the one of tv(no not vanish). My kids get stains on everything and as long as I have oxiclean I get them out easily.
Hope it helps

I will echo singingmum - oxiclean is truly amazing and works on old stains really well too. Gets old coffee stains out of clothes no problem and can be used on carpets too. Worth a try. HTH
