I've tried them all on the 2nd hand pc, but they don't work.

have you got them plugged into the right holes?

No, I think that's the problem! But I've tried all holes

Are they plugged into the mains and switched on...?

are they the right way round, you know left and right etc?

if they arent plug and play you will need to FIND them and install them...I think...how you DO that is beyond me.

What does the icon look like on the back of the monitor?

One lead goes into the other, the power's just from one.

check you've got the volume on in your computer, you've not muted the computer sound or anything!
