Received a letter today from a sales promotion company (I looked on internet and they exist)saying I won a prize of BMIbaby flights to the value of £3750 from ebay uk trasure house competition.

The number I have to call is a normal number ie not a high premium number.

I have to contact within the next 14 days to discuss this matter.

I was about to throw it away, until my friend said it looked genuine.

Anyone else get these? comments etc

There is always a catch breeze. If you want you can ring them up to find out what the catch is, but you never get given something for nothing.

MrsMills · 22/09/2005 13:15

Ebay have recently ran a treasure house competition, silly question but did you enter it?

NotActuallyAMum · 22/09/2005 13:16

My theory is that if something looks/sounds too good to be true then it usually is

But then again I'm the suspicious type anyway....

Mum2girls · 22/09/2005 13:16

Repeat after me

'No such thing as a free lunch'
'No such thing as a free lunch'
'No such thing as a free lunch'
'No such thing as a free lunch'
'No such thing as a free lunch'

there will be a (financial) catch

What's the name of the sales promo company?

Give them a call...but beware of a hard sell. And don't make an appointment to see anyone/attend a presentation!

Hulababy · 22/09/2005 13:18

How much does the premium line phone number cost you to ring, and how long is the call expected to be?

QueenOfQuotes · 22/09/2005 13:18

that was one of the prizes from the ebay competition! And the prize you've won is one that was being offered - WELL DONE!

breeze · 22/09/2005 13:18

The ebay treasure hunt thing was you either had to buy and sell, which I did in that period.

The company was PMA sales promotion.

Mum2girls · 22/09/2005 13:20

Still, be careful - often these 'promotions' aren't as good as they first appear...

Hulababy · 22/09/2005 13:20

Looking better - well done But agree - still treat with caution.

QueenOfQuotes · 22/09/2005 13:21
