'Books For Children' - have they improved?

I was with BFC years ago, when ds1 was little and they were a nightmare. Books took for ever to turn up, sending the wrong books/books I hadn't asked for, dreadful customer service - no response to correspondence etc. I cancelled my membership when the year was up and swore I would never join a book club again.

They sent me a catalogue this morning - there are some really lovely books and box sets of books in there at fab prices. Is anyone a member? Are they any better or should I still steer clear?

I unwittingly have signed myself up with them and they are a PITA.. they haven't come and collected an item yet, and keep sending stuff I don't want.

The book people are much better.

how do you pay them? do they send you the books or do you order them? hate companies that send you things you dont want!

It's 'editors recommendation', and if you don't get around to saying you don't want it - you get the book sent.

It's a pain for disorganised people like me!

I am with them and not had a problem.been with them about a year. I jsut make sure when I get the newsletter thing I go online and cancel editors choice thing. I have had one problem which was they didnt send me a book but charged me for it [i had ordered it]. So they sent me a letter to sign and say it hadnt been recieved and sure enough a week later they sent a replacement. I pay when the invoice comes in.

laughing lil you do as long as u remember to bow out of the editors choice. If you are online often its easily done.
