The hospital started anti-biotics last night for Peters infection. But he had a reaction to one, whihc meand he had injected into him hydrocortisone(think thats what he said), piriton, and was also given a nebuliser. So thats another drug to add to his red armband of things he cannot take.

Generally he is doing ok, but is too weak to go back on teh transplant list. BUT he did go to the canteen last night, altho he couldnt sit down as the chairs are too low for him. And this morning i have been measuring our furniture, the sofa is too low, so need a wide high arm chair for him, but our bed is fine in height.

sendin you all the positive vibe I can. (((hugs))))

SherlockLGJ · 22/09/2005 15:49

God you guys are really going through it.

I guess a seperate armchair would be best, but if he wanted to use the couch to lie down, you can get thingys (technical term) to put under them to boost them. My FIL has them.

Praying for you.

LGJ

GeraldGiraffe · 22/09/2005 15:52

LGJ- do you mean like an extra cushion to go under the sofa cushion?

Misdee- i really hope things go your way and Peter can soon be put back on the transpllant list

SherlockLGJ · 22/09/2005 15:54

No they are like cups, cant explain it really will have a google later.

So sorry you're having to go through this again, I hope he recovers soon.

macwoozy · 23/09/2005 17:09

Hi Misdee, how is Peter today? Any better?

misdee · 23/09/2005 17:11

Infection is under control, not causing him much problem apart from being tired. he ius doing well, and as his walks and exercise has increased even with the infection, they are going to start the transplant list tests again.

i saw the open wounds on his VAD site today, serves me right for just walking in and not knocking, he was having his dressings changes, usually they write on the door 'dressing in progress' but today they didnt.

macwoozy · 23/09/2005 17:29

Well that's a relief that the infection is under control. I hope it all goes well from here onwards. Good luck.
