I want to send my mother some flowers. I've looked at debenhams'com and daisys2roses.com but am uninspired!! Does anyone have any other suggestions?

I've always been boring and gone with Interflora - not cheap but always been very pleased with the quality.

Pimpernel · 19/08/2003 18:51

I've used Tesco before, although I don't think the bouquet I sent is there now. I didn't see the flowers either, so I don't know what they were like - Mum seemed pleased though!

metired · 19/08/2003 19:10

I have sent flowers from Next before and they were nice

nursie · 19/08/2003 19:11

I've used both Tescos and M&S and both were lovely.

why don't you look for a local florist to your mum using the yellow pages online? They will be much cheaper than the national chains and the quality is usually pretty good.

gingernut · 19/08/2003 19:29

I second hana's suggestion, although the way I find a local florist is by using scoot . I have also used M&S and they were good.

Would this help?

janh · 19/08/2003 19:47

I love lou's site but have also found this one which is more Interflora-ish.

janh · 19/08/2003 19:53

another one...

Gem13 · 19/08/2003 20:04

I always go through Yellow Pages (www.yell.com) and search for florists in the town you want to send them to and give them a call.

That way you save on Interflora costs, specify the flowers you want and have a rough idea of when they are going to arrive. It also means you can spend as much or as little as you like.

Gem13 · 19/08/2003 20:05

Sorry - hana beat me to it. Should have read through the post first!

eidsvold · 19/08/2003 20:08

parents in law used M&S for anniversary bouquet for us last year - brilliant and dh used interflora - also brilliant.

SoupDragon · 19/08/2003 20:32

I like online ones as I can then see what I'm ordering. Makes me feel I've actually done something! Going to a "real" florist is not an option with 2 small boys .

Thanks for all the suggestions, I'll have a look.

Hi again, soupie - this site has the same arrangements as one of the other 2 only cheaper!

Enid · 19/08/2003 20:43

I like this one, especially the 'Sweetshop' one!

Thanks everyone! I found an online florist local to the hospital through one of the links below and sent a personalised card via Moonpig.com.

Pretty much an ideal, hassle free shopping experience! Provided they arrive...
