I am thinking of re-training to do something else in life... but not sure what. Teaching comes to mind, primary though which I hear its very hard to get a job?

Just wondered what your ideal job/career would be?

After spending a decade teaching and then a SAHM, personally wouldn?t go back. It was a wonderful thing to do, but found it used up so much of my emotional reserve as well as the physical energy - was exhausted at end of each day, no time to play.
Saying that, loads of people go into teaching and find the reserves to juggle it with a successful home life, finding that the holidays really do work out with children.

If I took on another job now it would be to have my own little B and B by the sea with an attached little coffee shop and arty farty gallery. Plenty of help running it so that I had lots of time for making jam, long walks on the beach, painting lanscapes in my own studio etc etc AAAAGGGGH.
However, being a SAHM with DH working from home is a damn good second best

I really want a toy/ sweet shop where all the kids come to spend their pocket money, it would have a lovely cosy back room for my kids when they come after school. Quite traditional styling no pound shop tat. Oh and at Christmas it would be amazing, people would come from miles around to buy their childrens presents and enjoy the magical atmosphere.

Or the other ideal is a big converted barn surrounded by log cabins to rent out to lovely families for holidays. Lots of woodland and play areas.

If I was to work for someone else, it would be as a bed tester for slumberland - just think, you get out of bed to go to work then get back into bed!!! If I was to set up a business of my own, I would like to set up a handmade chocolate business.

Mummytummy have you thought of hiring out chocolate fountains that seems an ideal job for any chocolate addict. (if thats what you are)

oohh a traditional childrens bookshop, with storytellers and puppet shows, and a coffee/choc shop attached for the poor sleep deprived parents.
