Having problems with tesco online

This si the first time I have tried to do my grocery shopping online, and have been struggling with it for hours Mostly the fault of my computer which, for some reason, keeps losing the connection.
I finally got to the checkout...and it won't accept my card It says my issue number is not valid! Of course it is bl**dy valid - it is the number printed on my card!

Really annoyed that I have wasted hours doing this, and will still have to go in and do the shopping in store

no, im sure you wont have to go instore and do it. give them a call, and tell them to sort it out.
there may be something the matter with the website though as i had trouble with it yesterdaymorning. kept saying my basket was empty when i had been clicking add like crazy.

Wallace · 17/09/2005 20:52

Thanks for reading my rant

Maybe there is a problem with the website as it did keep coming up with "This page cannot be displayed"

I might give it another try tomorrow...and if still no luck I'll give them a phone

Hi Wallace,
Apparently Tesco online are having techinical faults? Do you have a Mac as it apparenltly is much worse - mores the pity. At the moment it takes me about two hours to do my shopping and the only alternative is Sainburys but it ends up costing about £25.00! Hope it gets better soon!

starlover · 17/09/2005 21:30

go to sainsburys! i can't stand tesco they're shit!

Wallace · 18/09/2005 10:43

So it isn't just me then

I don't think we have a Sainsbury's anywhere near us unfortunately...

phew... when I read the heading I thought you were going to complain about customer service! My next task is to order my shopping - I hope I don't have any of the problems you seemed to experience yesterday.

zippitippitoes · 18/09/2005 11:22

Have you tried it without putting the issue number?

It may be accepted then (but I guess you would have to start again)

stephone · 18/09/2005 11:32

We shop online with tesco

JoolsToo · 18/09/2005 11:34

I've got nothing bad to day about tesco on line - bloody marvellous!

stephone · 18/09/2005 11:38

I agree too saves going to the local supermarket

stephone · 18/09/2005 19:27

no problem with tesco

WigWamBam · 18/09/2005 19:32

I've just switched to Sainsburys because I was getting really hacked off with Tescos. Every time I got an order there was something missing, and the last order that came I ended up being refunded over £15 because most of the fruit was rotten, they'd packed cans on top of eggs and apples, so the eggs were broken and the apples smashed, there were 2 packs of dh's Actimel (12 bottles) all to be used up within two days, the meat was all use by the day of delivery and the bread was mouldy.

It saves going to Tesco when they get the order right, but when week after week you have to go back out and pick up the bits that the packers forgot, it gets a bit wearing.

stephone · 18/09/2005 19:47

HI WIGWAMBAM we have had the same problem items being echanged for something else .

JoolsToo · 18/09/2005 19:49

no problem/problem?

thats what they do - exchange - unless you tell them not to

WigWamBam · 18/09/2005 20:14

I don't mind the substitutions, they at least tell you about those so you can reject them if you don't want them. I'm not too keen on missing produce, mouldy blackberries and smashed eggs though!

foxinsocks · 18/09/2005 20:16

wallace, have you tried your issue number with a zero in front (so if it was 2, you put in 02)? that sometimes works

Wallace · 18/09/2005 20:17

Thank you so much Zippitippitoes

I put it in without hte issue number and it worked! How thick do I feel now - I thought I had tried everyting.

Luckily the order was still on my account so I didn't have to start from the beginning

And thank you everyone else for trying to help

zippitippitoes · 19/09/2005 12:17

glad it worked

I keep trying to get people to try things with their cards

kiwibelle · 19/09/2005 18:15

OMG... I have never had problems with the fruit (actually, I don't think I have brought it online) but the substitutions are annoying. Agree with WWB that there's not much point in shopping online if you have to do it again yourself. Thankfully, I haven't had a bad experience but I would be interested in trying Sainsbury's some time.

triceratops · 19/09/2005 18:22

Whenever I have had a problem with the fruit I have given them a ring and had it taken off the bill. They don't argue about it.
