what are they for and why does dd's swim school insist that ^girls^ (not boys) have to wear them? Is it long hair and nits? And is it actually based on ^any^ evidence?

don't you think it would be nice of them to explain that? rather than just "all girls must wear swim caps". Kind of thing taht makes me want to tell them to bog off. but then the lessons are good, right time right day etc etc so I can't

also speed of getting changed afterwards, cuts down on shiveriness

but our school requires them for girls and boys - I do think a discrimination sounds nuts
