I am still sucker for soft toys however I look at them, think they are cute & then stuff them in a box somewhere ! I probably wouldn't buy one for someone else though

No. Charitee shop.

misdee · 14/09/2005 22:43

put it in your wardrobe, then when you know she is coming round bring it downstairs on display. one day it will disappear, you say 'oh dd2 wanted to play with it, but i was worried about it getting damaged so have put it away safe' when in actualy fact it just shoved out of sight.

wartybosoms · 14/09/2005 22:43

hunkermunker · 14/09/2005 22:47

No, loathe them. Especially the grey bears with blue noses, which I assume is the one you received as a gift? Sympathy!

Skribble · 14/09/2005 23:01

Love bears and still get one every year from my mum, thankfully my kids especially DS love them too and have adopted all of mine .

Mum2girls · 14/09/2005 23:07

God no, we're overrun with soft toys as it is. I think adults who like them are barmy.

Give it to charity.

GeraldGiraffe · 14/09/2005 23:15

Only proper collectors bears of which I have 2. (although until 3yrs ago still had over 40 teddy bears of various shapes and sizes).

Now I've got my two collectors bears, my Harrods bear, one dressed in a cassock and organists surplus (which my mum made for me), and one that my brother had made for my 18th, with a beatiful framed painting of it

GeraldGiraffe · 14/09/2005 23:24

QueenOfQuotes · 14/09/2005 23:27

Charity Shop - none of them were 'collectors' bears.

Oh and actually I've just remembered that the boys have 2 teddies which my brother had when he was little. They're called Thomas and Reuben. (and shh don't tell my brother I told you this - but when my DB was about 8yrs old, on a cub camp, he won the "Best Loved Teddy" award because of how he looked after Thomas). My mum sewed a little pair of pyjamas' (for bedtimes) out of the same material she'd made my brother PJ's out of, and knitted a little pair of red and blue dungarees with little jacket which he was dutifully changed into everyday.

My brother is now 30, but the teddies are still in existence as are the clothes
