Would you go to a kids party held in a working mens club?

The local village hall is really expensive but the working mens club is free.

Plus the working mens club is a large hall and we can have it all day whereas we have a strict time limit on the village hall.

Would you be wary as a parent if you received an invite for a party in a working mens club compared to a village hall?

It is for a 7 year old.

wouldn;t be at all wary. would just assume it was a suitable venue and suitable price available at a suitable time

No I wouldn't be wary.

I imagine that most of the people you will be inviting will live locally and so know about the cost of the village hall.

Yes.

I have accepted one before for a 4 year old but sadly the party girl was ill on the day, Sadpoor little thing must have been so disappointed.

Ds has recently been to a 5th party in a pub function room. Most of the class went.

ScaryFucker · 25/10/2010 21:55

I wouldn't give it a second thought

feedtheghoul · 25/10/2010 21:56

Thats yes I would go btw, not yes I'd be wary!

galletti · 25/10/2010 21:57

Yes. Wouldn't think twice. Go for it, and have a lovely time. Just be out by 8.00pm Smile

colditz · 25/10/2010 22:00

yes of course, Working Men's Clubs usually have a function room!

wubbzy1981 · 25/10/2010 22:00

Thank goodness, they did say the club itself would be open to other members but that it was really quiet on sundays and they wont interfere with the hall.

I intend to hold DS's birthday parties in our village WMC, particularly as we have no village hall!

whomovedmychocolate · 25/10/2010 22:04

Well why not. I've attended children's parties in all sorts of bizarro places including the local park. Someone organised a picnic because they couldn't find anywhere. It was FAB !
