Nightmare late afternoon/evening.

Started off ok - picked DS1 up from school, came back. Did some ironing (not much though) and gave them a cake each. DS2 then decided to shred his into the tiniest crumbs possible and spread it all over the carpet, and then tip his juice over it too.

Got that tidied up and made a start on dinner. That was all going reasonably well. Then I managed to knock my small pyrex casserole dish onto the floor (stone tiles). The contents (water and carrots I'd just chopped up) went all over the floor and glass went everywhere.

Got most of it brushed into one corner (quite hard as the floor was now wet....) and finished dinner off. Then DS2 was being silly eating his dinner (again) and I lost my temper with him .

Gave them a bath - which went well - lots of bubbles and giggles. But then DS2 was being awkward when I told him to lie down so I could put his nappy on. Just as I went to lie him down, he moved his arm, and he ended up banging his head on the floor (hard tiles in there too) - only 'protection' was the towel again.

He had his milk without any problems, but then was messing around (DS2) when I was trying to get him to go upstairs and I got cross with him again (already stressed out).

They're now in bed. But I just want to scream. The kitchen's a disaster - still haven't actually gathered up the carrots/glass from the corner of the floor as it's only just completely dried, dishes all over the kitchen and quite honestly don't feel like doing any of it.

RANT OVER.

I think there must be a full moon looming as i've seen lots of sad, angry threads today and i have spent the whole day feeling sorry for myself. (Quite ironically i started a thread called 'feeling invisible today' today and nobody answered!)

You're all cows!

  • well I've just poured myself a glass of cider - slightly flat now - as the bottle is a few days old, but I couldn't care less.

Think I'm just going to ask DH to tidy it up when he gets in - or I'll do it in the morning.

stitch, you know we all go to the gym then to the hairdresser to get the blonde highlights then to the nailbar

Passionflower · 13/09/2005 22:13

Trade up from cider to a stiff G & T?

Sounds like a normal day to me..had quite a stressy day myself, no shoes to fit DD2 in our only proper shoe shop. Arghhhh DD1 refused to do her reading homework. Arghhhh.

Luckily for me DM came round bearing chicken casserole for the DD's tea helped with bedtime ans waved her magic wand over my disaster zone of a sitting room. Am V lucky girl.

More Cider hun Would join you but we only have gin in the house and I can't stand the stuff!!

QueenOfQuotes · 13/09/2005 22:27

I know. DH is being a sweetie (slightly reluctantly I sense but I don't care ) and cleaning it for me.

The day started off well, changed the sheets on the boys beds, got the washing all done, and most of it on the line. Then all that stuff happened.

Mind you - I'm a bit happier now, just checked my ebay stuff and discovered that all of the stuff that ends tomorrow has people watching it, and 7/15 items on their at the moment (ending tomorrow, thursday and sunday) have bids on them
