I have lived in both places among quite a few others, if I was choosing now I think I would pick Harrogate but maybe that is because I've been in warwickshire much more recently!

Lived in Harrogate for many years, very pretty, affluent, good schools, many lovely places to visit nearby, lots of shops (if you like multinationals...) BUT I have heard other people say they find it hard to meet people (mums groups can be quite cliquey) though I don't speak from personal experience! Disappointing public transport links though no worries if you have a car, York, Leeds 1/2 an hour away.
Never been to Warwick but funnily enough me and dh were watching a Location Location prog the other month on Warwick and thinking ''How gorgeous it seemed!''
The only other thing I find about Harrogate is bit lacking in imagination in terms of catering for young children but places change all the time. Let us know what you choose!

i live in warwickshire. some parts are nice, some are not. what parts exactly?

DaddyCool · 13/09/2005 19:09

coventry sucks btw.

SherlockLGJ · 13/09/2005 19:09

Cliquey, Cliquey, Cliquey

SherlockLGJ · 13/09/2005 19:09

That was for Harrogate by the way.

DaddyCool · 13/09/2005 19:11

warwickshire is a weird county actually. some of it is very nice (the majority really imo) but some are the pits like the forementioned coventry. Leamington Spa/Warwick are very nice and the countryside is really lovely.

SherlockLGJ · 13/09/2005 19:13

Loved the Dales and the countryside.

Lived there for 10 years and when we put the house on the market a neighbour overheard someone in the butchers, saying that they had noticed that the new people were leaving.

mrsmoons · 13/09/2005 19:25

Lol Sherlock! I've had that too in Harrogate. My neighbours still don't speak to us after 5 years (we didn't give the right answer to ''so what does your husband do?'')
