Me:

Ecover multi-purpose cleaner in a spray bottle thingy (for cleaning kitchen surfaces and table) - never use anything else.

Yorkshire Tea.

Persil washing powder.

Lurpak butter.

Anything else I will experiment with, but those are my constants.

Baileysismyfriend · 13/10/2010 19:54

I am amazed at the love for Lurpak, awful, awful stuff! In fact its the only butter my husband is not allowed to buy, it tastes odd Confused

Sorry went off on a tangent there!

My list of branded essentials are:

Pampers nappies

Nivea lip balm

Heinz beans

Loreal's Touche Magique - I have awful dark circles and I find this is the best highlighter

Faith shoes - their boots last ages

Marigold stock

stillbobbysgirl · 13/10/2010 20:03

Alpen

BistoBear · 13/10/2010 20:04

Fairy Non-bio washing powder
Simple moisturiser, cleanser and shower gel
Tony & Guy shampoo and conditioner - my meagre student-nurse budget shouldn't really stretch to this but my hair just isn't as nice when using other products...
The North Face

slobberedupon · 13/10/2010 20:28

Colgate
Bridgedale socks for DS
HEINZ beans
VW Golf
Bombay blue sapphire gin
Sure deodrant

peroni beer

6pack · 13/10/2010 20:57

Tesco own brand
Sainsbury's basics
Inov8 running shoes
Riverford veg box
Don't think I'm very brand loyal, always looking for ways to get good quality for non- rip- off prices. Bargain shelf and bargain rail junky :)

Novusleaf · 13/10/2010 21:23

I'm a bit of a brand tart, but I do have phases with stuff, so there was a long time of Clinique, then Elysambre, but now Boots No.7.

Love Waitrose/JL and Coop, but will tart to Sainsbury's/M&S where needs must. Try not to go near Tesco, ever.

Oh, Startrite.
Panasonic
Percol instant coffees (all sorts of ground)
Local fruit/veg/meat (boxscheme for last 9 years)
Ecover
Pinetum Quercus furniture
Lefroy Brooks taps...oh oh oh
M&S school clothes
Agatha Christie

galletti · 13/10/2010 21:26

Heinz tomato soup, and beans

Blue tub nivea cream for hands and neck.

Birdseye fish fingers

Flora, but for butter will go for on offer one as long as its unsalted

Branded cereals all round - for dd, not me, I don't eat cereal and she says she can taste the difference!

Schwartz spices, unless run out and nip to corner shop, then think why do I buy Schwartz, I can get so much more for my money? So may have to cancel that one!

Everything else, slave to offers, apart from Persil - brings my family dh and dd out in spots.

LionsAreScary · 13/10/2010 22:27

Amazed I haven't yet seen Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish on this list. It is wonderful stuff.

Agree 100% with the people who said
Maldon salt
Kerastase shampoo
Rose's lime cordial
ecover spray thingy
lenor (I like the white one which appears from time to time)
hotel chocolat
illy (good) / lavazza (good and slightly cheaper)
and lurpak...

Yes, maybe this thread is good for advertisers, but I think it also shows that it takes more than advertising to make a product a classic. I've never seen an ad for the first 3 items on my list.

jollydiane · 13/10/2010 22:46

Private Eye
Kelloggs Cornflakes
Heinz Baked Beans
First Direct
Tiptree Jam
Carte Noire Coffee
Aveeno Body products

MollieO · 13/10/2010 22:51

Nothing Grin

evenkeel · 13/10/2010 23:18

Hmm. I would have said John Lewis until they completely mucked up delivery of a new printer that I'd paid extra to have on a specified day. Not good. Now I'm very wary of anything I can't buy and then take out of the shop under my own steam.

Agree about First Direct, though - still very happy with them, years down the line.

I also love Lakeland and have had the occasional instance of things being damaged/not right in some way....they immediately say they'll send another and there's no need to return the original. No quibbles and always polite.

I too avoid Tesco at all times....not particularly because they're not up to standard; just because I loathe their mission to take over the world....

nanninurse · 13/10/2010 23:28

Anchor butter

heinz beans

aldi washing powder/tabs

fairy liquid

kellogs start/cornflakes

kikid · 13/10/2010 23:30

Tampax? get a mooncup, you will never buy tampons again!

ornamentalcabbage · 14/10/2010 09:53

"Love Waitrose/JL and Coop, but will tart to Sainsbury's/M&S where needs must. Try not to go near Tesco, ever."

Novusleaf are you me? :)

Hate the negative effect supermarkets have(especially Tesco) on local communities.

dementedma · 14/10/2010 13:23

kikid
have read lots of threads about mooncups and it sounds totally revolting and very fiddly.
Each to her own, but just the various descriptions of getting the thing out have turned me right off.

pipsy76 · 14/10/2010 13:56
