Fuel Protest on Wednesday 14 September

There are rumblings that there is going to be another fuel protest - DH works at a tanker terminal and word is that there might be blockades of petrol stations again. If you rely on your car, fill the tank this weekend just in case!

I could only afford to put £20 in!! But should last a bit.

Hulababy · 09/09/2005 20:56

I heard this on news. I need to go and get pretrol. Last time I ended up missing 2 days of work And there is no way I am risking getting stranded with no petrol at the prison this time round.

KBear · 11/09/2005 08:52

Bump - don't know if this is going ahead but forewarned is forearmed (or whatever the saying is!!)

I'm off to my local Tescos to clear the shelves of bread and milk to see if I can trigger a frenzy of panic buying!

KBear · 11/09/2005 09:00

I hope theres not massive petrol ques today!!!

i think EVERYONE i know is planning on filling up today

KBear · 11/09/2005 09:26

Has it been on the news them? I only know because the tanker drivers where DH works have been telling him something's going on. Luckily enough I don't rely on a car I get the train BUT the traindrivers probably rely on cars to get them to work!

WideWebWitch · 11/09/2005 09:33

Oh no, I won't be able to get home if they do this.

megandsoph · 11/09/2005 10:38

marthamoo · 11/09/2005 10:46

There have been big queues at some garages here. It will be panic buying in Tesco next.

MistressMary · 11/09/2005 10:48

PeachyClair · 11/09/2005 11:17

Don't get paid until Thursday, will do it then if I can.

RTKangaMummy · 11/09/2005 11:27

We had a near empty tank yesterday, and so had to fill up and it was 94.9 for unleaded in north west london

No queues either so not everyone had heard of it.

saffy202 · 11/09/2005 11:37

It's been on the news and in the local paper - the main organiser lives near here. I think the fact that they've named the day and time - Wednesday at 6.00am neans there will be contigency plans set up by the police and government. Also read that he doesn't have the same levels of support that he had 5 years ago.

DH just popped to Asda and said the queues were a bit longer than usual at the petrol pumps. He's going to pop over later and put some more in.

RTKangaMummy · 11/09/2005 11:43

we don't get local newspapers where we live and we don't buy nationals so we get news from TV or radio. Or from you guys

Was surprized the price had come down

KBear · 11/09/2005 11:58

We were paying 89/90p when we were holiday in August - kept that price rise quiet. Blaming on Katrina apparently????

oh goody ilike a little revolutionary activiy from time to time

Hulababy · 12/09/2005 17:05

There are big queues at our petrol stations today I have half a tank of petrol in my car, and half a tank in DH's car - so enough to get me to work and back this week.

NannyL · 12/09/2005 19:29

ENOURMOUSE ques outside my local tesco too (where petrol is aboot 5p / 6p per liter cheeper than other local garages... no ques at those garages tho)

SleepySuzy · 12/09/2005 19:53

KBear, don't you feel like saying "I told you so"?

mogwai · 12/09/2005 19:58
