Has anyone been an Avon rep?

I just wanted to know where I stand on this. About 5 months ago I ordered a few things from Avon, recieved them all but one. The rep said that Avon had made a mistake with some of the orders and it'll be along shortly. Since then I've phoned her 3 times asking where it is, I always get the same answer, blaming it on Avon mixing up the orders. It's pretty obvious that I'm never going to get it after such a long time, and the item is only £8, but it infuriates me that because of someone else's mistakes I'm the one that loses out. Is the rep responsible for all her orders? Does she have to pay back any lost orders with her own money? I know its such a small amount of money but it's the principle.

i was a rep and left because they screw up orders so often. it got too embarassing in the end! popular things are often out of stock and avon tell the reps itll be there soon, so they tell you - and it never turns up. i assume you havent paid for it?

No, I have paid for it, she asked for the money beforehand.

avon reps are supposed to take the cash when they deliver the item (unless you pay by cheque as the rep loses out if it bounces so some take them to clear them before handing out orders). i would ask for money back and tell her to get in touch if it arrives. she can send it back without losing anything (except the commission for selling it of course). if she wont refund you i would get in touch with avon to complain. she shouldnt be taking money in advance and i think it even says so on the order form

Well, I never knew that, as soon as I placed my order with her she asked for the cash, a week later I recieved my other items. I've never done Avon before so I didn't give it much thought. Now I know she was wrong in the first place I will take it up with Avon, I'll give her the opportunity to refund me first though, altough it's going to be my word against hers I guess, and she gave it up soon after so she's not going to be bothered with the outcome.

hope it works out. would def complain about it if not. they chose her to represent them and its not exactly written in ten foot high letters that you shouldnt pay up front. good luck
