Oh, commiserations mieow

If at first you don't succeed.......

Kazziegirl · 07/08/2003 16:17

Sorry to hear that mieow - makes it even harder to bear when you were so near to passing. Good Luck for next time

mieow · 07/08/2003 16:34

OK, honey, so now what you need to do is just drill yourself in the answers. The theory test does not take intelligence, it takes memory. So keep that wretched theory book by the loo and keep going through chunks of it; get the CD if you can (I have it on my computer, shall I see if I can email it to you?) and just drill, drill, drill. It will work. I promise. I did this and got 100 per cent and really, it was just drone work not brains. Lots of love...

ANGELMOTHER · 08/08/2003 09:28

Poor you Mieow, having been through three theory tests and three practicals still with no licence I can commiserate.

If you check the BSM website they have a service where for £5 you have 30 days unlimited access to all questions. I found it easy to go on every evening for an hour and by the time I had my last theory test was very well prepared.

I'll try to find the link.

ANGELMOTHER · 08/08/2003 09:33

Found it, I found this really helpfull and well worth £5.99 actually.

Thanks all I have the CD too but what happened yesterday was......... I thought that DD1 had a MRI brain scan yesterday and my Theory was next week. It wasn't till I phoned up the hospital to see what time she shouldn't eat from and was told that there was NO appointments as the scanner was being serviced that I realised what I had done. Ran around like a mad woman, got to the test centre at 10:30 and sat the exam, and failed on that 1 poxy point.
I think that if I had known it was this week and not thinking that I had another week to prepare some more, I would have passed.

Heavens above, honey, I'm surprised you got there at ALL. All the best with the MRI - let us know how it goes! Thinking of you xxxx

ANGELMOTHER · 08/08/2003 21:49

vicimelly · 11/08/2003 16:06

agree with motherinferior, i recently passed mine and it really was a case of just memorising all the questions in the book! i spent an hour a day testing myself again and again, by the time i had the test i knew all the questions and answers of by heart!!

mieow · 22/08/2003 16:10

I retook my theory today and failed on the new part by one point again!!! I passed the theory part with 34/35 but needed 42 to pass the new one and got 41!!!!

hazard perception. I have passed the theory part twice now with 32 and 34 but failed the hazard perception by 1 point twice, and if you fail one part you fail both

yes you have to watch a video clip and click on the Hazards. you take it at the same time. you can score a maximum of 75 but you need 42 to pass, on september the 1st the pass rate goes to 44. but makes you feel sick watching it though (think simulator machine)
