OK so I've got a new (very cheapy) Digital Camera - and I'm trying to see if the I can download the pictures to my computer.

I've loaded the software - no problem.

I've got a cable to connect from my camera to the USB.......but I don't know which 'hole' the USB one is on the back of the modem......

Will it actually have 'usb' next to it - or do I need to know which one it is???

if you look at the cable you can just marry it up at the back!!

mumtosomeone · 07/09/2005 13:41

mine seems to be white

QueenOfQuotes · 07/09/2005 13:43

problem is it's really difficult to see - I can't pull the modem out as there's already loads of cables, on short leads - pointing out.

Shall have another look - thanks

not in your modem - needs to be on the 'puter. USB normally has a sign like a fork with arrows on it.

spacedonkey · 07/09/2005 13:44

Most newish desktop PCs will have USB ports at the front and back. USB ports are about 1cm long and a few mm wide.

sorry didn't mean modem - we've got one of those 'tower' thingys

If your puter only has a single USB socket, (is your modem plugged into it?) You can get a USB hub (like a multiway plug extension socket thingy) - it plugs into the one on your puter and gives you 2/4/6 extra USB sockets.

mumtosomeone · 07/09/2005 13:46

dont think you meant modem did you..that doesnt have loads of cables!
I bought a modem adapter thingy!! Technical eh?
You plug it in the usb port at the back then this thingy sits on top and has 4 ports so I dont need to pull tower out any more!

gingerbear · 07/09/2005 13:47

What model/ make of puter?

QueenOfQuotes · 07/09/2005 13:48

I don't know what the modem is plugged into - I'm sure I've heard DH say something about 'ethernet' when he's been talking about the connection - but I'm completely clueless when it comes to this sort of thing.

QueenOfQuotes · 07/09/2005 13:48

it's one that DH 'built' about 3yrs ago.

the tower is an 'e-star' if that's any help?
