if you started it

dear miss blah
then you end yours sincerely

if you started dear madam/sir whatever
then you end with yours faithfully

starlover · 05/09/2005 22:20

yeah, then it's sincerely

Carla · 05/09/2005 22:20

then it's

Yours sincerely

Chandra · 05/09/2005 22:21

Looking forward to hear from you

or

Sincerely (if it's a thank you letter)

TBH I find most "endings" sound too much like a 16 yr old victorian girl who has fall in love, but then, so many people find it offensive not to use them that I stick to "sincerely" as it seems the less flowerly of them.

Chandra · 05/09/2005 22:21

Oops sorry, took me years to write the response

rummum · 05/09/2005 22:23

Thanks.... I knew I could rely on you lot...

One more question... is it acceptable to use tempus sans ITC font... size 16...

OP posts:
Chandra · 05/09/2005 22:27

Never more than 12 for text IMO, though 12 in some fonts is already very big. Unless you are trying to be a bit creative than every size and font is permitted

Chandra · 05/09/2005 22:27

than=then

starlover · 05/09/2005 22:29

hmm i would stick to a font of 14 MAX preferably 12 though

Carla · 05/09/2005 22:30

I'd stick to 12 Times Roman, dear. Guffaws at her own inadequacies.

rummum · 05/09/2005 22:45

thanks everyone...
I tend to use a big font because I find it hard to see the smaller ones!
