Now I have your attention - that's how I feel when I just turn off the computer without saying bye. Now I know nobody notices when I go, or cares that I didn't say bye (this being an anonymous chatroom and not tea with your gran), but I am obviously mentally unsound, and I feel like it's rude to depart without announcing it and bidding farewell.
