christening present ideas for 2 boys??? HELP!

Hiya, I'm off to the christening of a good friends little boys tomorrow (one is 2years old and the other 1 month old) and am absolutely cluless as to what you're meant to get them having not been to a christening since my little sisters 25years ago!!!!
Does anyone know what the "done thing" is these days?? I'd really appreciate some help and I don't really want to ask my friend as I don't want her to think that I'm passing it back IYSWIM.

My mum bought each of my children a tree - a bit waffy perhaps but we loved the idea.

How about nice pictures for their rooms?
My friend bought ds1 a lovely framed picture with his name on & little teddies all over, for his christening & it is still up in his bedroom, nearly 6 years on!
Also, memory boxes always go down well.

thanks for getting back to me, i love the tree idea. i also really like the thought of personalised pictures but me being me have left it till the eleventh hour and might struggle to get them done.x

my fave christening presents (ok I have girls) were:

personalised chairs/cutlery
Fairy stories (ok maybe not for boys)
but books like Wind in the Willows, Swallows and Amazons always nice
little figurine things
money box (with a bit of cash in)
