I have a 10 day cross over period between tenancy starting in new place and leaving my current place.

You can't set it up to cancel one account after starting a new one.

I still need electric etc in the old place during that 10 days as it is when I am doing all the cleaning etc.

But obv I need power where we will be living too.

What happens?! Do I cancel from the earlier date or the later one?

Oooh oooh . Do I take new meter readings when I move into new place, and submit those when I do the moving account thing 10 days later?

Sorry for being so stupid with this Blush. Not moved house in 6 years and forgotten loads!

We had the same situation recently and it really wasn't a problem; the utilities were all 'in place' in the new property - I believe the Agent sets this up and I just had to arrange payment - this seemed to take ages but nothing was 'cut off' or didn't work; actually I haven't paid for any electricity or gas for the three months we've been here because the supplier couldn't quote me a decent price and we kept going backwards and forwards discussing it !

Hope its worked out OK for you.
