Have been and it is fab ! You can go and look around the house (most of the furniture is roped off due to it's antiquity) and the gardens are lovely, we took a picnic.

We went last summer when DD was v tiny (a few weeks) and it was a lovely way to while away an afternoon. Was very busy though !

They have a website

I've been to Eastnor Castle when I was on holiday a couple of years ago.

It was a great day out and whilst we were there they had loads of activities on for the kids, painting, playing instruments, rides etc. It was easily the best day of our holiday so I'd definitely recommend it.

Haven't been, but saw the site from the top of the Malvern hills at the weekend - great setting! Might be better not to go this weekend though - the Big Chill festival is on (and it's sold out).

Eastnor's nice on a good day and Ledbury's ok in a tea shop sort of way. I spent quite a few years of my life in Herefordshire so it's a bit too familiar for me to feel enthusiastic about. Also have embarrassing memories of teenage balls there....

hewlettsdaughter - good point... we were thinking of going tommorrow... even though i've been looking at the diary of events for weeks... it didn't occur to me that august was here so i ignored the big chill.... sigh it would be great to go when the children's fun week is on but we're away then!!!

looks like we'll go after we get back... thanks agin for all the replies... and well done hewlettsdaughter for pointing that out as i don't think we wanted to be stuck inthe middle of the big chill event!!!

No probs . Don't really know much about the event but it's probably not one you want to take the kids to! (or am I wrong? anybody know more?)

Got back from the Big Chill yesterday and had a fantastic time. We took ds 2.9yrs and camped with my brother, SIL and their two 4 and 2, another couple and their two, also 4 and 2, and my three sisters, and the kids all had a brilliant time. They had a kids tent with lots of activities, children's theatre, workshops etc etc. We took it in turns to babysit, so we all got to go out in the evening.

And Eastnor is the most beautiful site, with two stages in the valley and various other tents - the Big Chill has a leave no trace policy, so it was really quite tidy considering there were 16,000 people there

Feeling very chilled now......
