OK since about 5pm - I've cooked dinner, cleaned all the kitchen worktops, hoovered the lounge/dining room, washed the dishes.......oh and fed the boys and put them to bed.

My kitchen floor is really mucky got flour and stuff all over it - been baking this morning, and although I swept it recently hasn't been mopped in a while . I also have a large pile of ironing (yes unfortunately it now has to be ironed as I've left it screwed up in the laundry basket for too long LOL) to do and I promised DH he'd have some socks sorted out for before he went to work tomorrow.

Now DH isn't home until probably another hour. So do I

  1. Sweep the kitchen floor
  2. Sort out the socks
  3. Sweep the kitchen floor and sort out the socks
  4. Mop the floor
  5. Mop the floor and sort out the socks
  6. Sweep the floor and do socks and ironing.
  7. Sort out socks and ironing
  8. Mop floor, sort out socks and iron
  9. Mop the floor and iron
  10. Sit on my arse for the rest of evening.....

QueenOfQuotes · 31/08/2005 20:29

OP posts:
RTKangaMummy · 31/08/2005 20:29

10 deffo but can do 2 at same time

RTKangaMummy · 31/08/2005 20:30

then you can justify 10 if doing 2 at same time

tissy · 31/08/2005 20:31

how many socks does dh need for 1 days work? It shouldn't take long to get 1 pair together, and you can do that sitting down on your arse!

WigWamBam · 31/08/2005 20:33
  1. Without question.

If you really want to feel as if you've done something you could sort out the socks whilse sitting on your arse, but they'll still be there tomorrow.

  1. Yep, definitely.
QueenOfQuotes · 31/08/2005 20:33

yeah but Tissy - he's been having one pair of socks a day for the last week.......and he's had to go downstairs and find them himself which has involved having to walk barefoot across the mucky kitchen floor

All the socks are at the BOTTOM of the laundry basket (one of those big blue plastic things you can get in homebase) so it involves tipping everything out to find the socks...

OP posts:
WigWamBam · 31/08/2005 20:34

Can't he sort his own socks out before he goes to bed? He won't have to walk across the dirty floor in his bare feet then, so it won't matter that the floor is dirty.

QueenOfQuotes · 31/08/2005 20:38

He could WWB - but I feel a bit bad making him trawl through all the clothes to find his socks, especially as he's been out at work since 2 - and he probably got soaked in a huge downpour we had a little while back.

He will have to go across the dirty kitchen floor - well if he wants a shower in the morning anyhow - our bathroom is at the other end of the kitchen

OP posts:
WigWamBam · 31/08/2005 20:57

Well in that case ... tip the washing out, sort one pair of socks, pile the washing back in again, resume sitting on your arse.

Sorted

mumtosomeone · 31/08/2005 20:59

10 definately 10!!!!!

QueenOfQuotes · 31/08/2005 20:59

PMSL - well I'm still here

OP posts:
WigWamBam · 31/08/2005 21:02

If he's had to get his own socks for the rest of the week, it won't hurt him to do it one more time for luck ... at least he knows where they are now

QueenOfQuotes · 31/08/2005 21:02

well that's the mopping ruled out for sure.....the mop and bucket are in the "shed" (used to be the outside toilet many years ago - now just a storage cupboard)........and there's just been a clap of thunder

OP posts:
magnolia1 · 31/08/2005 21:29

So........ Have you done his socks yet

WigWamBam · 31/08/2005 21:30

I'll lay odds that she hasn't, magnolia ...

QueenOfQuotes · 31/08/2005 21:31

no have to go into the kitchen to do that - and means going through the kitchen - were I can CLEARLY see the thunder and lightening

OP posts:
magnolia1 · 31/08/2005 21:32

So the poor bugger will come home soaking wet, go across a mucky floor and still have no socks for the morning

Sounds like my house

QueenOfQuotes · 31/08/2005 21:34

but the dishes HAVe been done (I'm usuually "just about to do it" when he gets home) and I've cleaned all the surfaces........plus there's homemade cakes, flapjack and biscuits for him to eat after he's had his dinner - which is carefully wrapped with clingfilm to keep if fresh

OP posts:
magnolia1 · 31/08/2005 21:41

Ah well that more than makes up for no socks

In this house there is not often home made anything and I still find it hard to sort the socks

WigWamBam · 31/08/2005 21:42

Who needs socks when you've got home-made flapjacks?
