Baby wipe wrapped round your fingers and then grasp each slat between fingers and wipe from end to end.

nailpolish · 26/08/2005 11:29

sigh

its going to take forever!

ps was going to use baby wipes but i seem to use them for everything

Useful things baby wipes - my youngest is 4 and I still buy them!

Blu · 26/08/2005 11:52

I used to take mine down, lay them the bath and sponge them under the shower hose.
I don't suppose it's recommended, though.

the devil's business to clean, venetians!

SaintGeorge · 26/08/2005 11:55

Betterware do a venetian blind cleaner - a handy duster on a stick that is split in the middle, so it cleans both sides of the slat at once.

I have 2 spare in my cupboard. Email me if you want one

Lakeland do a special Venetial Blind cleaner thing too for about £2.50. It's sort of like hair straighteners that you put above and below each horizonatal part of the blind and then pull across. I only know this because my next door neighbour uses them, not because I stand in Lakeland reading all the packets!

LIZS · 26/08/2005 12:10

Think Tchibo have a blind cleaner atm

moondog · 26/08/2005 12:11

Will you come and do mine next please np? My house is window to window blinds and I haven't done them since moving in amoth ago.
(Bugger it,I will splash out on a Lakeland contraption. How exciting is that??)

sorrel · 26/08/2005 12:13

Kim and aggie said to take them down and put them in the bath, filled with warm soapy water and sponge them down.( Blu- same thing as you do)
personally i can imagine a more backbreaking or thankless task than doing this. I have had to learn to live with the dust as i am a lazy slattern.{grin}
DH suggests moving house.

babyonboard · 26/08/2005 12:14

i do ours by closing them fully, then dusting and wiping with flash wipes, then open and spin them to close the other way and do the same...seems to work okay
they are a bit of a nightmare!
