Help please - e-mail problem

Can anyone help me here? I wrote and sent e-mails this morning to two close friends. Both e-mails contained details of some personal problems I have at the moment.

Both appeared to 'go' when I pressed send, but neither has appeared in my sent items folder. If they have gone off into cyber space to unknown people I don't mind too much, but I am worried they may have gone to other addresses in my address book. Is this possible?

Also they both took ages to write- they were very long. Is there anyway I can retrieve them to resend?

Thanks in advance

I would call the two friends and see if they have recieved the e-mails. Then you will know for sure

Check your DRAFTS folder if you are using Outlook.

Thanks emily05. Yes I did think about that but one is in NZ on holiday and the other won't be up yet (I am in a different time zone)

Is it possible to retrieve? I really spilled my heart out and don't think I can write it all again.

have you looked to see if they are stuck in your Outbox? Seems unlikely that they have been sent if not in Sent Items. Have you shut down the email programme since trying to send them?

PollyLogos · 26/08/2005 09:50

Thanks laughorcry. I tried that too!

I just sent a test message to my self which arrived OK, but also doesn't show in my sent items folder, so I guess they probably went off.

Thanks everyone for your help.

Have a look at Tools - Options - Send.

Have you got 'Save a copy of sent items' checked? If not it won't save.

just to put your mind at rest this happened to me before whilst I was using outlook. They appeared in a different sent box that I didnt know exisited - dh said it was because we have 3 e-mail accounts all running from outlook.

Could this have happened? I would really not worry - if they havent been recieved to the mailbox you sent them to - then they will come back as 'undelivered'. I doubt they went anywhere else - as this would not explain why they are not in your sent iyswim.
