when was it first routinely offered to new borns in the UK??

When I first was training to be a midwife, all babies that were preterm of delivered by forceps got vitK and that was in 1983. It then changed to all babies getting it about 1986 as far as I can remember. That was in my unit, not necessarily in UK.

Thanks Mears - he just came upstairs (having been googling downstairs) and informed me that Vitamin K has been offered to babies in at least some hospitals in the UK for 30yrs
