Double oven or combo microwave?

Were having a new kitchen installed and dont know if we should go for a double oven and normal microwave or a single oven and a combination micro that cooks etc.
Anyone have any opinions either way?
We currently have a double oven and have only ever used the small oven for grilling or christmas dinner.
Thanks

I have a single oven and conventional microwave but would rather have a double oven; mine is built-under and you can now get built-under doubles, you couldn't at the time. (We have to grill in the main oven and it is awkward and messy for eg chops. I am quite tempted to replace it actually - partly because it's filthy and the door seal has gone and the glass fell out and had to be screwed back in so isn't sealed, but a bit like getting a new car cos ashtray is full .)

Mind you the main oven in a double is a smaller space than the single, isn't it? Would that be a factor?

I have a double and like you only use the top oven for grilling and as a second oven at christmas.. But I'd still rather have it.

my mom never used her oven, that i can remember. always used the convection/ grill part of the microwave since buying it in 1987
i have a combination microwave, which i use a lot, and an oven, which is also used a lot.
never had a double oven, so cant say. but the comno microwave is an essential in my oppinion

we have double oven and a combo micro...micro is fab as you dont have to wait for it to reach xxx temp to cook with as it does it straight away. however you cant fit much into it.
Oven we tend to use top oven/grill most of time and only bottom at xmas. However we do only have a family of 3 so would depend how many you are feeding etc. Sometimes i use micro as a oven and the top oven if i need to do two things on differnet temps.

I would go for the double oven and normal microwave. I've had a combi before and have recently finally finished the poor thing off. I won't get another one for my own safety

I am a bit of a clumsey klutz and have had too many dodgy incidents involved not selecting right cooking method. Eg Put a pizza in to cook/bake for 10 minutes. 9 minutes later went to check on it. Oven looked full of steam, opened it to discover it was smoke not steam and discovered I'd been microwaving it. I reckon it was seconds from igniting. It was completely black, was thrown out of the back door and sat there for several minutes shooting jets of smoke several inches into the air, while I stood by the door trying to waft the rest of the smoke out of the kitchen with a tea towel, while dh casually enquired from the other room "have you burnt something?" as if I'd justslightly overdone the toast. He had no idea . Kitchen stank for days, had to wash the curtains and everything.

Obviously not everyones as stupid as me

Get both! We have and we do use both when we do family dinners. We got out combo microwave on sale and it cost no more than a normal one
