Are there any official weight/height/age limits for using a booster cushion in a car?

Have been googling but without success. DS is 6 and weighs maybe about 22kg and is in a high backed booster. He has very occasionally been on a booster cushion but I don't feel entirely happy with it. I know that friends of his have been on them for a while but they are heavier than he is!

I think the hassle of moving car seats between cars is prompting me to think about it.

He'd be ok either way according to here. When dd (almost 9 and just 20kg!) goes in friends' cars she is usually given just a booster cushion but agree I personally prefer them with back. ds is 12 and technically too big but still uses a booster cushion in dh's car as he finds it more comfy.

Thank you

He has occasionally said that friends have booster cushions but I just say that different people do different things. Think we will stay the way we are but good to know he would be OK on a booster cushion.
